Philosophy

At Aquanta Group, we believe that success and happiness in life come from a firm grounding in your basic philosophy of living. The questions below are designed to be ambiguous, difficult questions that force you to decide on some very important elements of how you live your life.

If you do well on the quiz, then you will generally be the sort of person we want to know. If you don't do well on the quiz, well, feel free to argue with us about the right answers or go back to kindergarten and start over.

1. What is your approach towards exercise?

I don't have a weight problem, I don't need to exercise
I like exercising, I do it regularly
I hate exercising, I do it regularly
I exercise when I feel like it
I play lots of sports, so I don't have a special exercise routine
I hardly ever exercise
I don't like getting all sweaty, so I don't exercise

2. It's Saturday and you have two things that you have to do today. One is to completely clean your apartment (or room). The other is to meet an old friend who said that he is available anytime, just let him know when. You're looking forward to seeing him, and you hate cleaning up. Which one do you do first? Why?

Clean first - so I can spend as much time as I want with my friend.
Clean first - so I don't have to think about it while I'm with my friend.
Friend first - it's more fun so I want to make sure I do it (cleaning could take      all day)
Friend first - I'm going to do both anyway, so I'd rather do the fun thing first      and be in a good mood for cleaning
Clean? Ugh, have the maid do it!

3. What's a better approach to school, if your objective in life is to make lots of money and be happy?

Make lots of friends, study when you have to to pass. Nothing wrong with a      2.01 GPA.
Make lots of friends, don't worry about grades, you'll eventually graduate
Study hard, don't socialize, plenty of time for that after graduation
Study hard, but take the time to socialize and meet people
Don't even bother with college, get out and start working and networking      instead. Sanjay says networking is the key to success!
Focus on school, get as many graduate degrees as you can. Education is the      key to success!

4. What does this phrase (a Zen koan) mean? "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear."

When the class settles down and stops talking, the teacher will walk in the      door.
When you genuinely are ready to accept learning, people around you will sense      it and be ready to teach you.
The teacher was there all the time, but because the student wasn't ready,      she couldn't see the teacher.
We're being watched all the time by teachers who teleport to our side when      we're ready to receive them.

5. You have three people you consider friends. Picture them as Monica, Rachel, and Phoebe from the Friends TV show. Monica is kind of whiny, and sometimes mean to you, but there for you when you really need her. Rachel is fun to hang out with and is always a great friend. Phoebe is kind of mean a lot of the time, but she's funny and you think she means well. How nice should you be to each of them?

Be equally nice to all three. Friends are friends.
Treat Phoebe nicest, because she needs the most maintenance to become a      good friend.
Don't worry about Rachel, she'll be a good friend no matter what, so focus on      Monica and Phoebe
Treat Rachel nicest and Phoebe worst, and make sure they know it
Be nicest to Monica because she's the prettiest.

6. Is George W. Bush really a moron?

Yes, definitely, can't believe he got elected
Maybe, but he makes up for it by being good with people
No, he's a great leader and intellectually gifted
Who cares? He's doing ok and hasn't been (caught) sleeping with any interns
Who's George W. Bush?
